Born on November 16, 1972, in Shiraz, Iran, Rasoulof has faced numerous arrests and bans throughout his career due to his outspoken critique of the regime.

Rasoulof's films often address themes of social justice, political oppression, and human rights. His notable works include "There Is No Evil" (2020), which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, and "A Man of Integrity" (2017), which won the Un Certain Regard award at Cannes.
